1999

ESTABLISHMENT

The first Invitel Service Center opens: situated in Helmstedt, the “HE Call Service” has 12 employees and is oriented towards serving the energy supply sector as a 100% subsidiary of BKB AG. BKB AG is a 100% subsidiary of the e.on group. The provision of customer services with the help of service providers starts in the newly liberalised sector.

2001

MARKET LEADER

Invitel experiences rapid growth in Helmstedt, gaining 250 employees and becoming the process market leader in the energy supply sector.

2004

NEW OWNER: BURKHARD RIECK

In a management buyout, the executive director when we were established, Burkhard Rieck, opts to take Invitel GmbH out of the e.on group. Invitel GmbH is now an independent, owner-managed medium sized company.

2006

FIRST NEW BUSINESS IN LEIPZIG, NOW THE SERVICE UNIT | 03

Focusing on outbound services, on 1st February 2006 Invitel Vertriebs (Sales) GmbH is established in Leipzig. Over the years that follow, we gain a successful foothold in this young and dynamic city and lay down the foundations for the exceptionally positive development of the current Invitel Service Unit | 03 GmbH.

2007

SERVICE UNIT | 02

To further strengthen our outbound work, 2007 saw us completing our first takeover. Telegut GmbH, based in Boitzenburg and with a location in Brandenburg is integrated, with a total of 140 outbound employees. The current Service Unit |02 GmbH, based in Prenzlau and with a location in Boitzenburg, now has specialist expertise in providing customer services for the energy supply sector.

2008

SERVICE UNIT | 04

In 2008, a new location opens its doors in Lüneburg: the Service Unit | 04 provides proximity to Hamburg. With the trend for favouring offices in smaller regional locations continuing, one of the first clients at Lüneburg is the energy supply firm Vattenfall from Hamburg. Today, our Lüneburg office primarily manages smaller clients in the energy supply sector with a wide variety of customer service systems.

2009

SERVICE UNIT | 05

Service Unit | 05 in Essen is opened. Invitel gains a foothold in the Ruhr district and North Rhine-Westphalia – another milestone along its path towards a regional service structure. A contact service centre previously home to Quelle is taken over, offering superb facilities for our service provision.

2009

CENTRAL PLANNING AND STEERING

The range of different locations means our executive team faces new challenges regarding the planning and management of our orders. The strategic decision is taken to realise all of our planning and steering work at our CPS centre (central planning and steering) in Helmstedt. Our shareholder views this decision as being “open heart surgery” – and it turns out to be a success, as is clear today, with the instruments developed in-house at our CPS enthusing our clients every time they visit us.

2011

INVITEL SUPPORT UNIT

In Magdeburg, the Invitel Support Unit is established as a process specialist for the energy sector. The Support Unit consists of hand-picked specialists from our team, who are appointed for extended periods supporting our clients on site. The know-how that they gain is returned to the Invitel group and further enhances the expertise of all the employees.

2011

INVITEL SERVICE UNIT

We continue to be a success in the energy supply sector, consistently pursuing our strategy of small regional units. Gaining new working markets also plays a role, however, which is why Magdeburg is decided on as a further location. At this point we couldn’t have known that we would be providing customer services for one of the biggest energy supply firms in Germany.

2012

OVER 500 EMPLOYEES

With more than 60 clients from the energy supply sector, Invitel has more than 500 employees at six different locations.

2013

Merger

Invitel Business Unit GmbH, which started by providing administrative services to the companies in the group, including operational and personnel support, training, IT and quality management becomes Invitel GmbH. Since the takeover of Simon & Focken GmbH our shareholder has consistently pursued the development of a holding structure. The holding company Invitel GmbH now consists of the central group services while the two brands of Invitel and Simon & Focken are home to the corresponding operational brand companies.

The post-merger integration is completed consistently and intensively. The process of integration and its finer details will continue into 2015 – patience is important to ensure the successful configuration of this important process. Patience that we possess.
